The Institute of Biomedicine (IBIOMED) is a research institute of the University of León, Spain, in that areas in which Biology and other related disciplines serve as basis for the resolution of human health problems, and knowledge of its physiology and its normal and harmonic development. Research on public health, in which epidemiology, sociology and other disciplines are applied, is also covered.

Among its aims are to promote research, with a particular attention to applied aspects, to harness the transference of results, favouring the creation of applied knowledge, to participate in promotion, prevention, diagnosis, treatment or rehabilitation activities, directed to health improvement or recovery, and to collaborate in postgraduate courses.
